Claude Vergez studied Painting at the Royal Academy Schools (postgraduate) and Central St Martins College of Art in London.

Prizes and awards include  Contemporary British Painting Awrad 2023, Discerning Eye 2022, Wells contemporary 2021.

Castellon Painting Prize (spain) 2006, Abbey fellowship in painting  at the British School at Rome 2005 , the Stanley Picker fellowship in painting2002, , Elephant charity commission.

She exhibits widely nationally and internationally. Group shows and solo shows include Hastings Contemporary, the Royal Academy, The Transpalette and Drac gallery in Bourges France, Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts de Valence, France, École Nationale des Beaux Arts de Bourges France, Skåpet Gallery in Sweden, Ruskin Gallery, Cambridge, UK,  Académie Royale des Beaux Arts Brussels, Venice Biennale program. 

Private  galleries include  London, Boston, New York, LA, Spain, Italy, France. The work is held in Public and private collections.

She has been a painting lecturer at Camberwell College of Art for nearly two decades and taught at many Art Schools around the country.

The work is featured in several articles and publications and will be the subject of an upcoming book with Dr Richard Davey and Beams Editions.
